Andrzej Jagodzinski - a pianist, arranger, composer and band leader. Initially he played in traditional jazz bands, and then in some of the best Polish jazz bands led by, among others, Janusz Muniak, Zbigniew Namyslowski, Krzesimir Debski, Eryk Kulm, Tomasz Szukalski, Jaroslaw Smietana, and Jan “Ptaszyn” Wroblewski. He is most acclaimed for his jazz interpretations of Fryderyk Chopin. The first album, “Chopin”, won the Fryderyk Polish music award in 1993 as best jazz record of the year. He has travelled around the globe as a musician and jury member. Jagodzinski has collaborated with many renown vocalists, including Aneta Lastik, Ewa Bem, Grazyna Auguscik, Urszula Dudziak, Agnieszka Wilczynska, Anna Stankiewicz, and Janusz Szrom.
Andrzej Jagodzinski has had a long and fruitful career also as a music educator. He teaches a piano class, leads jazz bands and teaches jazz improvisation at the Jazz Department of the State Music School in Warsaw. Winner of the Mateusz Award given by the Polish Radio 3, honoured with a bronze Gloria Artis Medal given to individuals for their exceptional contribution to Polish culture.
